This coming weekend, he and I will be meeting again to discuss our practice itinerary and how we're going to accomplish turning the lads into Rugby Players. The easy part is the players coming back already have an advantage on the newer lads, but everyone will be learning and running and learning some more about this great game. Bear has some great ideas on conditioning and what he wants to work on with the forwards and I'll be working primarily with the backs. So we're going to have some new and interesting things this coming season.
Also I'd like to formally announce that we're going to have a team scrimmage on Saturday, Sept. 15th with the Kick Off about 7:00pm. I'm calling it Green v Orange and this will be a match type situation, complete with referee so that the lads will begin to understand a little more about the game before we travel to Austin to face other clubs. This scrimmage is listed on the schedule.
In conjunction with our scrimmage, Chris McAlpine informed me that this is Family Weekend at UT Dallas and we are going to have some kind of social after the match for the lads and their families. Everyone will be invited and as we get closer to that weekend and I work out some of the details with the club's officers, I'll post this info on the web site and your sons should also have that info for you as well.
As we move closer into the season, my blogs will be more frequent and hopefully informative for all of you. As always if you have any questions, comments or suggestions, fe
