directly about playing. We could have enough to field multiple sides at least for the beginning and everyone will
get a good shot to play as much as they’d like.
As far as our schedule goes, I’ve added the University of Oklahoma to our schedule set for Nov. 3rd in Norman, Oklahoma. I know the coach there and he’s very open to us coming up there to play his 2nd and 3rd sides. They have a good program there and this could be a real good test for the guys, even though it’ll be
played in the middle of our fall season. A match of this caliber can jump start the lads into even higher levels of play.
Keep checking our schedule, games may be added and when they are, I’ll make a posting to notify you of it.
This past week I was asked to represent the Texas Rugby Union Collegiate Divisions at a University Recreation Sports Directors Conference held at UT Arlington. It was fun seeing all the Rec Sports Directors that I’ve worked with during my tenure as the Collegiate Director. The questions were fired at me in rapid sequence, some of the answers I was able to give others I didn’t know because of how the divisions have set themselves up. I made some promises to the Directors of our league to get them answers, and I will have those answered in the time frame I promised them. I’ve already started my email campaign to get help from various USA Rugby officials and once they get back with answers, I’ll be able to report back to those Rec Sport Directors and then everyone will be satisfied and we’ll all be ready for Rugby.
As we get closer to the season and once the season begins, I’ll be posting more and more each week. As always, if
anyone has a question or comment they’d like for me, please contact me and I’ll do my best to answer your question or reply to your comment.
Enjoy the rest of the summer and I’m looking forward to getting back on the pitch with all the new and returning ladsand seeing all the parents out at the games.
