I've heard reports that along with a good number of returning players, a few of the lads have been busy recruiting new students to come out to play. A number I've heard has been around 25 new players and that's going to be real nice. Maybe some of them will have a little high school rugby experience, if not, no big deal. With the good number of returning players, those players will be able to help coach the newbies in this exciting game.
Practices are being planned and may have to be adjusted once practice begins due to how fast they pick things up, but if this new crop is as excited and learn as well as the lads did last year. We should be fine, during the upcoming season, I may bring in a guest coach or two to work with me and the lads so we all get the experience of another coaches perspective and knowledge of the game.
I'm still waiting to hear back from a couple of clubs about possible friendly/scrimmages for the upcoming year, but as soon as I get word and confirmation, I'll post that on our schedule in this web site.
I want everyone to enjoy their time off, players don't forget to keep running and keep your fitness up. If you don't, then we'll just have to use valuable practice time to get you fit.
