A little note about last weeks game that brought me a lot of pride, I've known and coached against the Rice coach Mario Botha for many many, years. While I coached at SMU and then last year with UT Dallas and never has he given me the compliment he gave me last week. Mario congratulated us on the win and then he stated that he was very impressed with their discipline and how they played the game. In my opinion, this was huge, I know and respect a lot of the coaches we play against and never has any of them complimented UTD Rugby players and how they play. Yes, some of them get nicknames, like AJ got when other coaches called him "a beast", but this is special and hope they the players know and carry on that into each and every game and life situation they face.
Okay, enough of that, this coming weekend, your UT Dallas Rugby Club faces off against Stephen F. Austin (SFA) in their last home and league match of 2017. SFA in the past has been a large club and has given us fits with the difference in size. But earlier this season, we played them in the "Dust Your Boots Off Tournament" at the beginning of the season and took care of them somewhat easily, but that was back in September and a lot could have changed. Like us going on a win streak and SFA going on a losing streak, none of that will matter, while on paper, we should win the game. Which is why we actually play the game, SFA could play spoiler, and with that motivation ruin our bid for a perfect season #4. It's been 3 years since we've had a season like this and it will be up to the lads to insure that it stays that way.
This weekend, the game will be played at UT Dallas and kick off is set for 6:15, see you all out there.
