This coming weekend, not only are we debuting the men and women's rugby, but we'll be bringing out our 2 sets of new bleachers for our fans to sit on besides the normal hill to watch the exciting rugby that both our men and women play.
The UT Dallas Women play UNT Women on 11/7 at 4:00pm, this will be a very interesting match, due to the fact that currently UT Dallas and UNT are 1 and 2 in the current league standings. With this one weekend remaining, playoff venues are on the line and the UT Dallas Women are playing some of the best rugby this season than they have ever played and they're hoping to bring their A game and host their first ever playoff game. But let's not get ahead of ourselves.
In our first meeting with UNT, it didn't really go the way we wanted. UNT scored a bunch of trys and we were playing our very first game of rugby and we had some things to learn about ourself and our team mates. Since that game, we've been able to learn more about ourselves and play better rugby. So the match with UNT will be a pivotal game in terms of what we've learned and home field advantage for the playoffs.
The men are in action at UT Dallas as well, but their opponent will be their toughest opponent they'll ever meet. Their opponent for 11/7 with be the UT Dallas alumni and that match will kick off about 6:00pm.
The current UT Dallas team has been working hard and are on the verge of putting things together, so they will be put to the test this coming weekend against the alumni. The alumni, who boasts players like AJ Paradowski, Nathan Sohadasini, Vince Dutton, Cameron Brousard, Dominic Prestia, Ben Bales, Jonathan Holmes, and my 2 silent assassins John Bradshaw and Weston Hearne and so many more players that have worn the green and orange. Some are still playing rugby, others only play only for this game.
This alumni game has always been fun to watch and reconnect with the players from the past but watch how the current players play against them and figure out new things during the game. The alumni also help those current players with technic and positioning during and after the game
Both games should be entertaining and we're looking forward to having everyone attend the games. If anyone has any questions or comments please call or email me.
