We took the field and began working our stuff, defensively we were strong. We played well when we had the ball and scored almost at will. We were able to move the ball down the field a number of times by playing under control. But the first half, our penalty count was exceptionally high, maybe it was our aggressive tendencies? Maybe it was us wanting to get our hands on the ball before Trinity? Whatever it was, it was enough to keep the referee blowing his whistle and giving the ball back to Trinity. After half time, our penalty count was extremely low. This was a good match played by 2 well coached clubs, with Trinity being a tough opponent and with time, those freshman and sophomores and Coach Arnan will turn that club into another powerhouse in the Lonestar Conference.
Scoring for UT Dallas yesterday, the final score UT Dallas 53, Trinity 5.
Joey (2 Trys), Caleb (3 Trys), Andrew, Edmund and Octavio (1 Try each)
Lewis had 5 out of 8 conversions and was 1 for 1 on Penalty kicks.
Next weekend (10/28/17) we have a bye from league play, but we have what has been in the past the toughest opponent we've ever played. Next weekend, is the annual Alumni Match, for some schools this is almost a civil war, because it pits, the current players with the past players. Our past players have a lot of history and want to show why they have that history. In the meantime, the current players want to show the alumni that they are the future and history, is just that, his story.
The alumni game will kick off about 7:00pm, with Alumni wearing red jerseys and the current players wearing their green, orange and black jerseys. Looking forward to seeing everyone on the pitch and sidelines next weekend.
